UST sets up IT labs in five government schools in Thiruvananthapuram as part of CSR efforts
UST, a leading digital transformation solutions company, has set up IT labs in five government schools in Thiruvananthapuram district as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The efforts are part of UST’s 'Adopt A School' initiative, which has been providing help to various government schools in India.
Thiruvananthapuram, December 21, 2023: UST, a leading digital transformation solutions company, has set up IT labs in five government schools in Thiruvananthapuram district as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The efforts are part of UST’s 'Adopt A School' initiative, which has been providing help to various government schools in India.
The schools that benefited from the programme are the UP section of GGHSS Peroorkkada, GVHSS Kallara, GUPS Kuravankonam, SNVGHSS Kadakkavoor, and St. Antony UP School Kazhakootam. As per the programme, UST provided 10 desktop computers to set up a computer lab at the GGHSS Peroorkada, while 10 desktop computers, 10 computer tables, a projector screen, and a projector were handed over to GVHSS Kallara to aid the school in setting up the computer lab.
The company also provided eight desktop computers and a projector screen to set up the computer lab at the GUPS Kuravankonam. Meanwhile, as many as six desktop computers were handed over to the SNVGHSS Kadakkavoor. These apart, necessary furniture were distributed to the St. Antony UP School in Kazhakootam for the setting up of a computer lab at the school.
"Knowing how IT is changing the world, we do not want the children of government schools to miss the IT revolution. Through this initiative, our goal is to expose young minds to the world of information technology. UST has been extending help in setting up computer labs and also providing necessary infrastructure in various rural as well as urban schools functioning in the capital district, as part of the Adopt a School initiative,” said Sofi Janet, CSR Ambassador, UST.
UST employees, including Vineeth Mohanan, Lekshmi Sarala Kumari, Nand Sundaram, Shine Abdul Rasheed, Sinu Sam, and Lakshmy Menon, have been relentlessly volunteering for this initiative.
