UST Thiruvananthapuram Centre Hosts Yummy Aid 2023; Culinary Fest Raises Rs 4,10,000 to be donated to SAT Hospital
Digital transformation solutions company UST organised Yummy Aid, an annual culinary festival-cum-fund raising event, at its Thiruvananthapuram centre on July 31. Around Rs. 4,10,000, collected at the culinary fest, will be donated to the Pediatric Nephrocare ICU at SAT Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram for providing beds for the kids.
Thiruvananthapuram, July 31, 2023: Digital transformation solutions company UST organised Yummy Aid, an annual culinary festival-cum-fund raising event, at its Thiruvananthapuram centre on July 31. Around Rs. 4,10,000, collected at the culinary fest, will be donated to the Pediatric Nephrocare ICU at SAT Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram for providing beds for the kids.
UST’s Network of Women USsociates (NowU), an internal volunteer organization that facilitates the development and executive mentoring of the company’s women employees, hosted the annual fundraising event. UST associates bought home-cooked food to the venue, which was displayed to celebrate Yummy Aid for the tenth consecutive year. The event was supported by UST employees putting in money to support the CSR initiatives for the Thiruvananthapuram region.
As many as 27 teams from various accounts and departments competed for the titles at Yummy Aid 2023. Each team designed and created their signature dish which was then presented before the panel of judges comprising Chef Suresh from O by Tamara, and Celebrity Chef, Alina Padikkal, and Mayur Ramachandran from Taj Kovalam.
Some of the dishes won special mention from the judges include Prawn Ghee Roast, Karapidi Kozhukatta, Chicken Cake, Mathanga Halwa, Vazhapoo cutlet, Pappaya Jujubees, and Chakka Puzhukku. The judges selected ‘Arappaam petti’ as the Best Stall for this year.
The judges choice for the Best Dish were Ulundu Kali from Ruchiyude Tharavadu and Andhra Dum Chicken Biriyani from Semicon. Plavu won the prize for the Best Stall with Variety Dishes. The Blockbuster Stall prize for the one that raised the maximum amount of money for charity (Rs 42,000) was also awarded.
The teams presented a broad combination of flavors that suited to the wide range of tastes of the foodies who attended Yummy Aid 2023. The teams showed tremendous excitement for developing and experimenting with cuisine, creating new variations of meals that impressed the judges. The donation from the previous year was given to the Women and Child Hospital, Thycaud.
