The first concert in India organised to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar
Hyderabad, February 14, 2022: Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT Dept, Govt of Telangana and Mr. M Jagannath, Zonal Manager of LIC, Mr Sharad Narate lighted the lamp to begin the 11th edition of Uttar Dakshin, Indian Classical Music and Dance concert and graced it.
It is the first ever concert in India organised to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar.
The concert organised by Vivid Art was the first in the multi city concert —Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi and Ranchi was a Tribute to Lata Didi, the legend of Indian Music who recently passed away. The 90 minutes concert Bagan with Hamsadhwani.
When the artists sang "Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo" ("O' people of my country") a patriotic song and Most Beautiful song of Lataji Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai, as a tribute to Lataji, the Ravindrabharathi auditorium reverberated with the sound of claps
It featured two prominent artists of international repute, Pandit Ronu Majumdar and Shashank Subramanyam perform a Jugalbandi.
After pandemic performing in front of an audience like you means a lot to us and we consider it an an honour you bestowed on us announced Shashank Subramanyam, one of the performers.
It was a unique series presented the classic elements of Hindustani & Carnatic forms of the wind instrument. The music lovers of Hyderabad who got an opportunity after temporary closure of public gatherings due to Omicron got to listen two different forms of the Flute versions which mesmerized the audience with their Magical performances.
The accompanying Artists include for the concert were OjasAdhiya (Tabla), Parupalli Phalgun (Mridangam).
Vivid Arts & Entertainment together with the support from LIC, Gail India, Indian Oil, NMDC, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, Surmandal, The Pioneer Arts Education Society brought the concert to the city. Nearly 200 music lovers took part and enjoyed the unique jugalbandi.
Uttar Dakshin has 10 magical years and has been one among the favorite concerts for Classical Music lovers contributing to the regional harmony amongst North and Southern India with the two forms of Music.
Concerts and musical programs can best be defined by the relationship between performer and audience. A performance is a transformation process of strong emotions which it created by active participation of both Performers and audience. What the performer emotes, the audience perceive it.
The Life size stage, the colourful backdrop, the artist’s performance, lighting, sound and the space in the concert hall, all seem so sacred. It’s like seeing God perform in a temple. The presence of favourite artists and their live performances gave live concert in the Ravindrabharathi all the vigour and energy.
Fans have taken a bold step of getting back to theatres to cheer their favorite Heroes on big screen. So also the music lovers to Uttar Dakshi Concert, which guest after Omicron spell. It is two years since we are away from Music Concerts. Its time for us to invite the doyens of Classical Music fraternity to our cities and have them perform live for us and bring back the affair of Audience and musicians and watch them perform live, thus breaking the silence of the Concert Halls, observed one of the coordinators of the concert.
