Vajra Corps: Future-ready and mission-focused, Says Western Army Commander

Jalandhar, April 17, 2025: Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, AVSM, Army Commander, Western Command, concluded a two-day visit to the distinguished Vajra Corps from 16 - 17 April 2025. The visit was aimed at assessing the Formation's operational preparedness and administrative efficiency.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps, briefed the Army Commander on the prevailing security environment and a host of forward-looking initiatives undertaken to enhance synergy among all stakeholders. He also outlined key efforts to strengthen border infrastructure and highlighted the Corps' growing role in Nation-Building.
The Army Commander reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and engaged in discussions on the roadmap for future development. To mark the occasion, he dedicated several newly completed habitat and welfare facilities for troops and their families.
The Army Commander commended the troops for their high morale, professionalism and unwavering commitment to excellence. He urged all ranks to proactively embrace emerging technologies, emphasizing the need to build a modern, agile and future ready force - equipped to safeguard National Interests against both current and evolving threats.
Concluding his visit, Lieutenant General Katiyar, while acknowledging the Vajra Corps' contribution towards advancing the broader goals of National development, expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness of Vajra Corps and conveyed his complete confidence in the Formation's ability to effectively respond to any challenges along the Nation's Western borders.
