Vajra Corps plants more than 1 lac trees tree plantation drive across Punjab
The troops in border areas have made nature their partner and have contributed to its preservation and development
Jalandhar, November 1, 2021: A massive Tree Plantation Drive and Afforestation campaign has been underway under the aegis of Vajra Corps across Punjab since the beginning of 2021. As part of this drive, over 1,12,000 trees have been planted by formations and units of Vajra Corps in cantonments and Military stations as well as border areas in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Firozepur, Ludhiana and Beas. Concerted efforts by troops has resulted in successful implementation of various initiatives such as arboriculture schemes, creation of bio-diversity environment parks with tree plantation integral to every commemoration event and planting of native trees. Lush green & clean cantonments with tree lined public areas are a testament to their effort. Vajra Corps will continue to give further impetus to the tradition of environment conservation, growth and hope for future generations.
