Jalandhar, November 12, 2024: The much-anticipated Vajra Punjab Hockey League 2024 – Season I, under the aegis of the Vajra Corps, is set for its grand opening at Jalandhar Cantt. This first-of-its-kind tournament will feature teams from across Punjab, showcasing their talent and competitive spirit. The league is not just an event to promote hockey but also aims to inspire good health, positive lifestyles, and sportsmanship among the youth.
The Vajra Punjab Hockey League is more than just a sports event; it is a movement with a mission. The league aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and motivate youth to pursue a healthier, active lifestyle while encouraging them to consider joining the armed forces. Under the leadership of Vajra Corps, similar tournaments will be organized across other districts of Punjab, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and ambition.
The tournament will be held from 18th to 23rd November 2024 at Astroturf Katoch Stadium, Jalandhar Cantt. The first prize is set at 2 lakh rupees, the second prize at 1 lakh rupees, and the third prize at 50 thousand rupees. The opening and closing ceremonies will feature cultural programs, a street play on anti-drug abuse, and a band performance, adding special appeal for the audience.
