Valedictory ceremony of National Science Week – Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate organised at HMV
Under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is celebrating 7 day long Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate- Festival of Scope for all, “Science Communication, Popularization & Its Extension”.
Jalandhar, February 28, 2022: Under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is celebrating 7 day long Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate- Festival of Scope for all, “Science Communication, Popularization & Its Extension”.
College is celebrating this event in association with Ministry of Culture, PSA Govt. of India and Vigyan Prasar, to mark 75th “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” . This programme is organized under State Nodal Agency of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh. Valedictory ceremony of this festival started with lighting of lamp followed by formal welcome of Chief Guest of the day Prof. Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Patiala by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, Convener, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Coordinators of the event. On this occasion Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig always support us and motivate to HMV family. She appreciated the endeavors of Govt. of India, Vigyan Prasar and State Nodal Agency of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh for giving opportunity to college to organize seven days National science festival which helps in communication, popularization and extension of science and technology. She congratulated all the participants and winners of the different events organized in 7-days long celebrations of National science week. She further motivated students to work for pollution free environment which helps in sustainable growth and development of any nation. Keeping in mind the responsibility towards society and mother earth, HMV has replaced the plastic covered bouquets with green earthen pots and plastic bags with jute bags. She also appreciated the sincere efforts of students, faculty, non-teaching staff, technical staff and supporting staff to make this event successful. After that Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, Convener gave the brief report of 7-days long celebrations of National science week. She briefed that the main aim of this festival is to inculcate scientific temperament among young budding learners.
More than 700 students from different schools, colleges and universities participated enthusiastically in this festival. Daily two expert talks of eminent speakers from reputed institutions like DRDO, ISRO, CSIO, ICMR and NIT mesmerized and inspired the young minds. To ignite the spark, films on science and technology were live streamed and poster exhibits also encouraged students to opt science as carrier.
In his presidential remark, Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Chief Guest of the day appreciated the efforts made by all the team members of the college for organizing this scientific event. While emphasizing on importance of environment he asked students to take responsibility of our mother earth and make it pollution free and green. Students should made aware their parents and elders regarding problems of environment. Everything is for our use but nothing is more misuse. So we should use the natural resources precisely and very carefully. He also highlighted the importance of science education in our own mother tongue. He congratulated all the winners of various competitions organized under this festival. At the end winners of various competitions were awarded with trophies, medals and certificates.
The best college trophy was awarded to HMV and Swami Swatantranand Memorial College, Dinanagar. DAV Public School, BRS, Nagar Ludhiana won best school trophy and DAV University, Jalandhar won best University trophy. Dr. Neelam Sharma, Coordinator presented vote of thanks and stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
