Value added course conducted by CPC with UBS
The Central Placement Cell, Panjab University Chandigarh, organised a 30-hour Value Added Course on “Unleashing Career Success: Mastering Soft Skills” for the students of Panjab University by various industry experts from 26th February to 12th March.
Chandigarh March 13, 2024: The Central Placement Cell, Panjab University Chandigarh, organised a 30-hour Value Added Course on “Unleashing Career Success: Mastering Soft Skills” for the students of Panjab University by various industry experts from 26th February to 12th March.
The course hosted various resource persons including Kirat Brar Head-HR and Admin Topan, Navin Rishi Corporate trainer, Amrit Lal HR Becton, Dickinson and company, Dr.Sanjiv Gupta ex General Manager SML Isuzu ltd. and others. The course was a 30 hour extensive curriculum that included skill areas of effective time management, stress management, interview skills and group discussions.
The purpose of this workshop was to make students job ready and bridge the gap between industry norms and academics preparing them for corporate careers ahead. The value added course was one of the initiatives undertaken by Central placement cell to make the students job ready.
Prof.Meena Sharma while addressing the participants emphasised that at Central Placement Cell she is deeply committed to nurture the growth of students by providing necessary opportunities and exposure by providing such events.
The chief guest of the valedictory function was Jawahar Goyal who has served as administrative head for establishing the Indian Operations for priority Technology holding, a USA public limited company. He spoke about the importance of relationships in ever changing world as how the current generation is facing the dearth of soft skills and how soft skills make a hard impact in the first impression, he also spoke about the importance of tolerance and its ever-growing shortage in this world.
Prof. Parmjit also advised the students that this is just a start and the first step in the long journey of their career development and how they should continue to engage in such programs that make them industry ready and the first among equals.
The function ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Tilak Raj coordinator of the course.
