VB arrests Patwari for accepting Rs 5000 bribe
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state has arrested a revenue Patwari Patwari Jaspreet Singh, posted at Raikot, district Ludhiana for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Chandigarh July 8, 2024: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state has arrested a revenue Patwari Patwari Jaspreet Singh, posted at Raikot, district Ludhiana for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said this above mentioned revenue official has arrested based on a complaint lodged by Gursewak Singh, a resident of Green City, Raikot on the Chief Minister's anti corruption action line.
He further informed that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that the said Patwari has taken illegal gratification of Rs 5000 through his private assistant named Laddi, for mutation of land.
The spokesperson added that during verification of allegations levelled in the complaint have been found correct as the same have been supported by oral evidence as well as video recording of occurrence and allegations of taking Rs 5000 bribe has been proved.
On the basis of this verification report a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the said Patwari at VB police station Ludhiana range. The accused Patwari has been arrested and would be produced in the competent court tomorrow. Further investigation into this case was under progress.
