Ludhiana, August 23, 2022: As a befitting tribute to the leader of Ohio State University who helped establish the Punjab Agricultural University, Dr T.S. Sutton; a digitized version of a dilapidated portrait of the scientist was unveiled here today at the university’s Sutton House.

Unveiling the portrait reconstructed with digital effects by nature artist Harpreet Sandhu, Dr Gosal remarked, “It is heartening to see the 50 year old priceless portrait of Dr Sutton getting a new look and enhancing the grace of the place. It is also an inspiration for all visitors to take pride in the vision of the great scientist,” he said. Dr Khush while applauding the innovative initiative added that besides enhancing the impact of the Sutton House, PAU’s landmark monument that hosts national and international dignitaries, it is a respectful gesture to the doyen who envisioned the university in its present form.

Harpreet, former Additional Advocate General & Chairman of Punjab Infotech, who has been instrumental in redoing the portrait, emphasized the responsibility for upholding and promoting the torch bearers of the state and country as inspirational models for the citizens to follow. Later, the Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries released a coffee table book by the nature artist titled, ‘Natural Beach of Ludhiana - Khaira Bet’, as a step towards promoting ecological tourism in Punjab.
