VC Prof. Rajbir Singh committed zero Indiscipline on Campus, MDU expels the alleged culprit after physical assault of a law student
The MDU administration has taken serious cognizance of the physical assault of a student of the Department of Law. The student has suffered serious injuries. On the recommendation of the Proctorial Board, the MDU administration has decided to expel the alleged perpetrator of the assault from the department as well as the hostel. Further, his entry is also banned in the University campus without prior permission from the Competent Authority.
Rohtak, August 30, 2024. The MDU administration has taken serious cognizance of the physical assault of a student of the Department of Law. The student has suffered serious injuries. On the recommendation of the Proctorial Board, the MDU administration has decided to expel the alleged perpetrator of the assault from the department as well as the hostel. Further, his entry is also banned in the University campus without prior permission from the Competent Authority.
An emergent meeting of the Proctorial Board of the University was held earlier today. The Proctorial Board comprising of MDU Proctor Prof. Rajesh Punia, Dean Students' Welfare Prof. Randeep Rana, and Head, Department of Law Dr. Jitender Dhull recommended this disciplinary action keeping in view the serious nature of the matter and gross indiscipline by the concerned student.
The Proctorial Board decided that " the alleged perpetrator of the assault, (a student of BA LLB-3rd semester), be expelled from the Department as well as hostel till the final outcome of the proceedings (of the Proctorial Board). Further, his entry be banned in the University campus without prior permission from the Competent Authority."
MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh has said that University administration will not tolerate any act of indiscipline, violation of rules & regulations, and violence on campus. University is committed to zero indiscipline on Campus, and weed out such elements with an iron hand, he asserted.
