Rohtak, August 8, 2024:  Education is a powerful tool for solving the problems of the society and the nation. The real purpose of education is not merely to get a degree, or a job, but to utilize the education for societal development, community upliftment, nation building and welfare of mankind. Utilize the time spent in university for knowledge enhancement, capacity building, and holistic personality development. This was stated by Vice Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Prof. Rajbir Singh in his inspirational address in the Inaugural session of Three Day Induction Programme for newly admitted students of postgraduate programmes. The three day Induction Programme commenced today in Tagore Auditorium under the aegis of Dean, Students Welfare, Dean Academic Affairs, and Director, IQAC.

MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh in his address highlighted the multiple achievements of university in various spheres. He exhorted the students, to participate in the various capacity building programmes, outreach activities as well as games & sports. VC Prof. Rajbir Singh emphasized the importance of developing communication skills, ICT skills, problem solving mindset, and a positive attitude. He stressed the importance of physical health and well-being in his address. Prof. Rajbir Singh extended his best wishes for a fruitful academic journey in MDU to the students.

Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. A. S. Maan in his address highlighted the significance of discipline, especially self-discipline for career success.  He said that students must work with a definite plan to achieve their academic goals,

Registrar Prof. Gulshan Lal Taneja highlighted the progress journey of MDU since 1976 till present times. He said that success in career and life is dependent upon persistent efforts, career target specific approach, and apt time management. He said students must take inspiration from the great social reformer Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati and founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak, and inculcate the values enshrined in their teachings in life.

Earlier, Director, CCPC Prof. Divya Malhan delivered the welcome address. Chief Warden Girls & Convener of Organizing Committee, Prof. Sapna Garg expressed the Vote of Thanks. The stage was conducted by Dr. Savita Rathee, assisted by students Hina and Rajeev.

Deans of faculties, Dean (R&D) Prof. Arun Nanda, Director, IQAC Prof. Narsimhan B, Head of University Teaching Depts., graced the inaugural session of Induction Programme.  Faculty members of UTD were present on the occasion. The Induction Programme was heralded by Yajna in the morning organized in MDU Yajnashaala. Newly admitted students of PG programmes of various UTD participated in the Induction programme.
