Inaugurates new quality control lab at Verka Milk Plant equipped with Danish Milk Analyze Machine
Patiala: Mrs Preneet Kaur, Member of Parliament from Patiala said that Verka Milk Plants of Punjab have made a significant contribution in saving the dairy business even during the COVID pandemic.
She was here to inaugurate the new Quality Control Lab and MilkoScan FT-1 Analyzer set up at a cost of Rs. 85 lakh under NPDD (National Program for Dairy Development) subsidized scheme.
Mrs Preneet Kaur said that Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government made available, milk and milk products to the people during COVID at reasonable prices even when all other private institutions were closed. She said that the cooperative organisations of the government had proved its worth to serve the people of Punjab day and night at these testing times. Apart from this, turmeric milk was also launched to increase the people's immunity to fight diseases during the pandemic.
On this occasion Gurmail Singh, General Manager, Verka Milk Plant, Patiala thanked the Member of Lok Sabha and informed that with this MilkoScan analyzer, 14 types of milk adulteration besides availability of essential nutrients like fat, SNF, protein and lactose can be tested in the milk samples. The adulteration can be detected in just 30 seconds, which will help in further improving the quality of milk by immediately inspecting the quality of the milk obtained.
He said that this would further enhance the quality of milk and milk products supplied to the consumers in the market. He said that under the guidance of Minister of Cooperation S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and MD Milkfed Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Milkfed has procured this Milko Scan from the Danish multinational company Indifoss. On the occasion, the Chief Minister's OSD Mr. Amrit Pratap Singh Honey Sekhon was also present.
