Verka Milk Plant, Ferozepur BoDs, Progressive farmers visit Kamdhenu Gaushala, Madhu Vatika
A delegation of Verka Milk Plant, Ferozepur's Board of Directors and progressive farmers, led by Joint Registrar Umesh Kumar, alongwith Gurbhej Tibbi, Chairman, visited Kamdhenu Gaushala and Madhu Vatika at Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan, Noormahal, Jalandhar. The delegation was impressed by the excellent infrastructure, cow breed management, and organic farming of fruits and vegetables at Kamdhenu Gaushala and Madhu Vatika, which prioritize sustainable practices and holistic farming.
Ferozepur, August 11, 2024: A delegation of Verka Milk Plant, Ferozepur's Board of Directors and progressive farmers, led by Joint Registrar Umesh Kumar, alongwith Gurbhej Tibbi, Chairman, visited Kamdhenu Gaushala and Madhu Vatika at Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan, Noormahal, Jalandhar. The delegation was impressed by the excellent infrastructure, cow breed management, and organic farming of fruits and vegetables at Kamdhenu Gaushala and Madhu Vatika, which prioritize sustainable practices and holistic farming.
The delegation also visited the Verka Cattle Feed Plant and Frozen Semen Station, Khanna, where they were briefed about the various types of high-quality feed and mineral mixture produced for dairy animals. The team was informed about the semen straw production process using high-quality bulls and cows of various breeds like HF, Jersey, Sahiwal, Neeli Ravi, and Murrah.
During the meeting, several important issues were discussed, and new projects were also deliberated upon. The delegation expressed concern over the declining population of indigenous breeds in Punjab and emphasized the need for progeny testing and selective breeding to improve these breeds. They appreciated Verka's efforts in providing Sahiwal, Neeli Ravi, and Murrah semen to farmers in Punjab.
The directors expressed satisfaction with the plant's performance and commended General Manager Dr. Surjeet Singh Bhaduaur and other officers and staff members for their efforts.
