NEP-2020 will be a game changer for future of education system in India: CT Group MD Manbir Singh
Jalandhar: The new National Education Policy-2020 announced by the Education Ministry is a welcome move amidst the outbreak of the pandemic in this sector. We have been eagerly waiting for this change that took almost three decades to announce. Firstly, this policy has the potential to create profound long-term impact, affecting the social and economic fabric of our society and will be a game-changer for the future of education system in India. Secondly, allowing global institutes to set up campuses in India is also a positive move as it will increase competition because it will open up our education system and will help sustain skilled talent in our country as now students don’t have to move out to pursue education. Thirdly, changing the pedagogical structure from a 10+2 system to a 5+3+3+4 system is in line with global educational standards, which is a positive sign for us.
For future, Manbir Singh said that this policy is trying to gear up for the changed education reality by extending flexibility, graded levels of autonomy and trying to enhance the level of knowledge application along with a broader skillset and is eagerly looking out for how this policy will be implemented.
