Vet Varsity organizes hands-on training for PG students
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has signed an MOU with HiMedia Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. In association with the molecular biology wing of HiMedia Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. College of Animal Biotechnology organized a workshop cum hands on training on “Automatic nucleic acid extraction and pathogen detection by real time PCR technique” . Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean of the College and the Course Director of the workshop, in his welcome address elaborated about this workshop’s aim to strengthen human resource in the field of molecular diagnostics. Dr. Malik briefed about the college and various research activities being undertaken by the college.

The coordinator of the workshop, Dr. B.V. Sunil Kumar and Dr. Ratan K. Choudhary and the HiMedia partner, Dr. Narendra Singh conducted the practical sessions on DNA extraction using automated nucleic acid extractor and real time PCR experiments. Trainees from the College as well as other departments of the University and Punjab Agricultural University participated in the workshop.
