Vet Varsity Scientists bestowed award at International Conference

Dr. V. K. Dumka and Dr. M. K. Lonare from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University, were bestowed Best Editor-in-Chief (Toxicology International) awards at the International Conference on Current Trends in Toxicology, 2024 and 43rd Annual Meeting of Society of Toxicology, India held at Lovely Professional University (LPU) for their significant contribution in publishing the Journal for last ten years.

Ludhiana, October 24, 2024: Dr. V. K. Dumka and Dr. M. K. Lonare from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University, were bestowed Best Editor-in-Chief (Toxicology International) awards at the International Conference on Current Trends in Toxicology, 2024 and 43rd Annual Meeting of Society of Toxicology, India held at Lovely Professional University (LPU) for their significant contribution in publishing the Journal for last ten years.

Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice Chancellor, Veterinary University Ludhiana, was the Chief Guest of the function. He congratulated LPU and Society of Toxicology, India for hosting such an important event and highlighted that the theme of the conference is the need of the hour and takes into consideration the interest of one and all. Addressing an elite gathering of scientists and researchers, Dr. Gill said that this conference is an endeavour to bring eminent scientists from various disciplines on a common platform to exchange ideas and deliberate on issues related to health and environment. He said, this is a unique occasion when eminent scientists from leading institutes have gathered to find a solution to the most challenging global problem. He emphasized that the challenge is to identify ways to monitor chemicals in the environment. It is time now to have a relook at our surroundings and introspect what our role is in conserving the environment.

Dr. Gill highlighted that Vet Varsity has a close association with this society and has played a key role in the advancement of the society to its present form. Scientists from Vet Varsity have been office bearers and Fellow of the society and the University has been the Head quarter of the society for a long time. The official Journal of the society, 'Toxicology International' is still being published from this University.
