Veteran actors Aanjjan Srivastav and Bharati Achrekar to recreate their magic in Sony SAB’s Wagle ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi, Naye Kissey

India’s most beloved show, Wagle Ki Duniya is all set to get a fresh look on Sony SAB! Revisiting the nostalgic show, Sony SAB will soon launch Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi, Naye Kissey. Celebrating the aspirations of today’s middle class, the show takes the classic and fan favourite Mr. Wagle and introduces a new era of Wagle Ki Duniya featuring the ever green Aanjjan Srivastav, Bharati Achrekar and the next generation of Wagles – featuring Sumeet Raghavan in the lead.
 
Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya takes a leap forward and is set in today’s time to provide a glimpse into the life of the new generation Wagle and his family. It is the story of a common man set in the modern, progressive, complex and aspirational India. The show has been created while keeping the true essence intact, making it relevant for today's times.
 
Wagle Ki Duniya will feature some of the most celebrated stars of the television industry like veteran actors who would be reprising their roles, Aanjjan Srivastav to be seen as Srinivas Wagle and Bharati Achrekar as Radhika Wagle. While the immensely talented and versatile artiste Sumeet Raghavan will be playing the role of Wagle Junior aka Rajesh Wagle and playing Rajesh’s wife will be actress Pariva Pranati as Vandana Wagle. Adding a dash of youthful energy to the cast will be Sheehan Kapahi and Chinmayi Salvi who will be playing the roles of Rajesh and Vandana’s children, Atharva and Sakhi Wagle respectively.

Aanjjan Srivastav, who will play the role of Srinivas Wagle said, "For years, people have addressed me as Wagle and have given so much love to Wagle Ki Duniya. However, this time on Sony SAB, we are coming with a fresh new version of Wagle Ki Duniya that will look at issues of today’s common man, which I am sure everyone will be able to relate to. I still miss our golden days but I am glad that my colleague Bharati Achrekar is joining us for the show too." He added, "Since it's the centenary year of the legendary Cartoonist and a reputed journalist of yesteryears R K Laxman, I wanted to be able to pay my homage to him and the directors of this evergreen show, late Kundan Shah and Ravi Oza. Just then this opportunity came to me, to be back with the new version of Wagle Ki Duniya with Hats Off Productions and Sony SAB. I look forward to entertaining our audience once again with relatable, light-hearted and fun stories."

Bharati Achrekar, who will essay the role of Radhika Wagle said, “It is extremely overwhelming to be back with one of the most beloved television shows in India.
