Veteran and seasoned journalist Kuldip Bhatia passes away today
Ludhiana, December 22, 2023: Veteran and seasoned journalist Kuldip Bhatia passed away today.
74-years-old Bhatia has been Correspondent of The Tribune from Ludhiana over the years.
Cremation will take place today (December 22) at 3.00 PM at Cremation Ground, Civil Lines (Behind KVM School), Ludhiana.
Paying his tribune, eminent Punjabi poet Prof Gurbhajan Gill said, “Beloved brother Kuldip Bhatia, a well-known journalist, has passed away today.”
Prof Gill said Bhatia’s father Dr. Amar Das Bhatia was a medical professional but also published "Tarjaman" newspaper in Urdu. Kuldip took charge of it and started printing it in Punjabi.
He recalled, “I first met him in 1976.”
Further, he said when the Punjabi Tribune newspaper started, Kuldip Bhatia from Ludhiana became its first representative.
He said in 1980, the first public show of Gurdas Maan was also organised by his friends Late Kanwaljit Singh Sidhu and Kuldeep Bhatia in the hall of Panjab University Extension Library.
Recently, Bhatia’s younger brother had passed away.
