Veteran journalist Harbir Singh Bhanwar is no more. He passed away this morning at DMC Hero Heart Hospital, Ludhiana, according to his son Dr Hirday Paul Singh.

Ludhiana, December 12, 2022: Veteran journalist Harbir Singh Bhanwar is no more. He passed away this morning at DMC Hero Heart Hospital, Ludhiana, according to his son Dr Hirday Paul Singh.

He was the author of may books, including Diary De Panne, Dharam Yudh Morcha, Klakaraan Di Dharti: Andretta, Sant Harchand Singh Longowal, Teeja Ghalukara Ate Kale Din and Sobha Singh - Jeevan, Shakhsiat Te Kala. 

Bhanwar had closely understood Sikh politics. He was admitted to the hospital due to heart disease. He had already undergone heart treatment in March 2013. He had worked as a personal assistant with Sant Harcharan Singh Longowal. Besides, he had also served with the then president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra. Besides, he had also worked as media consultant in Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. 

The deceased veteran journalist had worked with The Tribune in Amritsar and Dainik Jagran in Ludhiana.

He was known for his transparent, free and fair, and bold journalism.

His cremation will take place at 2.00 PM today (12 December) at the cremation ground Sunet( BRS Nagar Cremation Ground), Ludhiana.

Noted Punjabi poet Prof Gurbhajan Gill has reacted over his death: “Separation is painful”. He further said: “His writings are the precious for Punjabi literature.”
