Appreciates role of District Administration, Police Administration and CMCH for providing timely treatment to the victim

Vice Chairman Punjab State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights visits 6-year-old rape victim at CMCH today

Ludhiana:     Mr Sebi Thomas, Vice Chairman, Punjab State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, today visited the Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMCH) and met the family of 6-year-old rape victim, who is undergoing treatment in this hospital. Mr Thomas assured the family members of all possible support from the commission.

He also appreciated the role of District Administration, Police Administration as well as team of doctors at CMCH for providing timely and best treatment to the victim. He said that even the family of the rape victim have shown satisfaction.

The Vice Chairman held a meeting with the Director of CMCH, which was also attended by senior officials of District and Police Administration. He also provided financial assistance to the family members out of his own pocket. He said that the District Administration officials have been asked to provide financial assistance to the family through the DLSA and through the Welfare Department if the victim belongs to the Scheduled Castes community. He also directed the District and Police Administration to ensure that no such incident takes place in the district in the future.

Mr Rajwinder Singh Gill, Deputy Director, Punjab State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, was also present on the occasion.
