Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh inaugurated Four Day 4th Theatre Festival at Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, April 1, 2025: Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh inaugurated fourth annual 4-day Drama Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University. The first play, "Natak Paedan," was performed by the university's Drama Club and Awaaz Rangmanch Toli at the Dashmesh Auditorium.
"Natak Paedan," written by Jatinder Barar and directed by Kanwal Randhe, tells the story of a young child from a poor family. The play showed how kids who grow up without basic things like food and shelter face big challenges. It also highlighted how unfair it can be when some people have so much, and others have so little. The actors, including Shabiyata Jaryal, Parinur, Karamjit Sandhu, Kartik Kapoor, Navdeep, Pushkin, Sarath, and Karan Gill, did an amazing job bringing the story to life.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Karamjeet Singh said the university is dedicated to helping students grow in all areas, including theater. He encouraged students to get involved in drama and promised the university's support.
Budhi Raj Singh, ADC Jalandhar Rural, also attended and praised the play, saying young people should use their energy to make a positive impact on society. Prof. Sunil Kumar, who's in charge of the Drama Club & HOD, Department of Hindi thanked everyone for coming. Many people, including teachers and students, enjoyed the performance.
