Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu interacted with sports persons from PU
PU VC said sports persons have worked very hard
Chandigarh: The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu interacted with the sports persons from Panjab University, Chandigarh who won the recently held Khelo India University Games in Bhuvneshwar.
The team was lead by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Dr. Parminder Singh Ahluwalia, Director Sports and Dr. Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director, Sports.
As a step towards motivating the sports persons, the Vice President announced financial help of Rs. 5 lakh each year for 8 years to the sports persons of Khelo India Games.
PU VC said that the sports persons have worked very hard for the tournament which has given PU this overall trophy. He has assured of providing better infrastructure to promote the sports culture in the Campus.
The team from PU also met Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Human Resource Development, New Delhi and Sh. Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi.
