Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, on Friday, visited the Buddha Dariya site to see the 'Kar Sewa' started by environmentalist and Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal near Gurdwara Gaughat to clean Buddha Dariya. MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi was also present during the visit.

Ludhiana January 10, 2025: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, on Friday, visited the Buddha Dariya site to see the 'Kar Sewa' started by environmentalist and Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal near Gurdwara Gaughat to clean Buddha Dariya. MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi was also present during the visit.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan saw the work initiated by Sant Seechewal for establishing the temporary pumping station and praised the service of Karsevaks for working day and night even during the cold weather conditions.
Rajya Sabha member and environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal welcomed Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on his arrival at Buddha Dariya site. Sant Seechewal told Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan that this 'Kar Sewa' is being done with the support of sangat on the same lines of 'Kar sewa' of 'Pavitra Kali Bein' done in the past. Efforts are being made by the sewadars day and night to stop the dirty water of the city polluting Buddha Dariya for two and a half years. He said that the work to establish temporary pumping station, which started on Dec 31,2024, has now been completed.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that it is the dream of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to clean Buddha Dariya and the government is making continuous efforts for the same. He assured MP Sant Seechewal that all kind of support would be provided for this work. He gave instructions to the officials that MP Sant Seechewal should be supported in every way and the power connection and panel for the pumping station should be given as soon as possible. In this regard, he also spoke to Additional Chief Secretary of Local Bodies Department Tejveer Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal over phone and issued necessary instructions.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Sant Seechewal has already set a great example before the country by reviving the 'Pavitra Kali Bein' in the past.
