Vigilance arrested Naib Tehsildar in connection with Rs 3000 bribe
The accused will be produced in court tomorrow
Dharamshala: Naib Tehsildar of Bhawarna Sub-Tehsil of Kangra District has been arrested red handed, taking a bribe of Rs 3000 by the Vigilance. The bribe was sought by Naib Tehsildar Devendra Kumar in lieu of correcting the name in the revenue record. A case has been registered against the Naib Tehsildar at the Vigilance Police Station Dharamshala. SP Vigilance North Zone Arul Kumar told that Naib Tehsildar has been arrested by the team of Vigilance red handed in his office taking a bribe of three thousand on Thursday
He said that Sanjay Guleria, a resident of Haldara under Bhawarna sub-tehsil had gone to the office of Naib Tehsildar along with another person Pankaj Kumar. Sanjay had to get his name corrected in the revenue records while Pankaj had to get his father's name corrected. During this, Naib Tehsildar took one thousand rupees from each of them and after this an additional demand of 3000 rupees was made from both. He asked the two to come to the office on June 18 with the money. Due to the demand for money, Sanjay Guleria had registered a complained against Naib Tehsildar to Vigilance.
On the basis of the complaint, the Vigilance team led by DSP Vigilance Police Station Dharamshala Balvir Singh Jaswal laid a trap with full preparation and caught Nayab Tehsildar in his office red handed taking a bribe of three thousand. The vigilance has registered a case against the accused Naib Tehsildar and has initiated further proceedings. The accused will be produced in court tomorrow.
