VIGILANCE NABS TWO KANUGOS FOR TAKING BRIBES
Chandigarh, October 3, 2018: State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed two Kanugos red handed for accepting bribes in different cases. Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Naib Sadar Kanugo Balbir Singh posted at Fatehgarh Sahib district was nabbed red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 6,000 from complainant Balwinder Singh of village Tangori in SAS Nagar district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said accused has been demanding Rs. 6,000 to provide a copy of record which was already submitted in the court. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Kanugo was arrested on the spot accepting bribe of Rs. 6,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. In another case Kanugo Saroop Singh posted at Shahkot, Jalandhar district was nabbed was also arrested accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant Varinder Singh of village Khanpur Rajputan, Jalandhar district. The complainant has informed the VB that Kanugo was demanding Rs. 10,000 to submit his report in a case related to division of agricultural land already filed by him in the court of Tehsildar. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team arrested the accused on the spot while accepting bribe in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both the accused at VB police station Patiala and Jalandhar respectively and further investigations were under progress. BRIEF Two IAS officers transferred in Punjab Chandigarh, October 3, 2018: The Punjab Government has transferred two IAS officers today with immediate effect. An official spokesperson said that Mr. Dilraj Singh has been transferred as State Transport Commissioner, while Mr. Tejinder Singh Dhaliwal transferred as Director State Transport Punjab. He has also been given additional charge of Deputy Commissioner, Gurdwara Elections and Special Secretary, Science, Technology and Environment.
