Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra delivering benefit of welfare schemes in rural areas in Ludhiana- Anmol Singh Dhaliwal
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal today reviewed the progress achieved under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the district wherein he directed the officials concerned to speed up their activities under this mission.
Ludhiana, December 14, 2023: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal today reviewed the progress achieved under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the district wherein he directed the officials concerned to speed up their activities under this mission.
Divulging the details, the ADC said that special camps were being organized in the rural areas so as to spread maximum awareness among masses about the welfare schemes of the Government of India. He mentioned that over 4800 people have been screened for TB disease during this campaign while a total of 1328 Ayushman cards have been created so far. Likewise, 9687 persons have been diagnosed with various diseases in medical checkup camps held by medical teams in the villages, he said.
The ADC further stated that other departments including food and civil supplies, women and child development, lead bank, rural development, etc. have also taken slew of initiatives to percolate the benefit of these schemes. He also directed the officials to share their activity chart with the administration so that a well-coordinated approach can be adopted in this task. He added that the awareness vans were flagged off to spread maximum awareness among masses towards welfare schemes of the Government of India.
The ADC said that the Government of India had launched this scheme on November 15, to ensure that benefits of flagship schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries in a time bound manner.
Under this scheme, the IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Vans were covering rural areas of the district. Besides awareness drives, enrollment camps were also being held at village level to provide benefit of government schemes to people at doorsteps, he said adding several government departments have been roped in for this task to ensure prompt benefit of government schemes to eligible beneficiaries.
The ADC also mentioned that the Government of India, with participation of States and Union Territories, is actively engaged in the mission of saturation through its flagship schemes for providing basic amenities like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, access to LPG connections, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, quality education etc and making required services accessible to all targeted and eligible beneficiaries.
The objectives of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra are Reaching the unreached - reach out to the vulnerable who are eligible under various schemes but have not availed benefit so far, he added. Furthermore, dissemination of information and generating awareness about schemes is the key focus of this scheme. Officials from different departments were present in the meeting.
