Virtual Award Ceremony- PM Narendra Modi confers Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021 upon Satyan Namya Joshi
Satyan Namya Joshi was the only awardee in the year 2021 from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh who was honoured for her outstanding contribution in the field of innovation
Ludhiana, January 24, 2022: Satyan Namya Joshi of Sat Paul Mittal School was conferred with prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021, the highest civilian award for an individual below the age of 18. She was the only awardee in the year 2021 from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh who was honoured for her outstanding contribution in the field of innovation. In the virtual Award Ceremony, held on 24th January, Namya Joshi received a medal, a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/- and a certificate from the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for being conferred with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021. Block Chain Technology was being used for the first time for giving certificate to awardees of PMRBP. Namya Joshi got the opportunity to interact virtually with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of National Girl Child Day on 24th January and as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Union Women and Child Development Minister Smt Smriti Zubin Irani and Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of State were also present on the occasion. Namya along with her parents and concerned District Magistrate of the district joined the event from district Head Quarter.
The Bal Puraskar is conferred by Hon'ble President in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan. However, due to COVID-19 situation in the country, the award ceremony could not be held at New Delhi in 2021. Therefore, Namya along with other awardees of the previous year received this prestigious award virtually along with the awardees of 2022.
Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is given as recognition to children residing in India, above the age of 5 years and not exceeding 18 years with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievement in 6 fields of Innovation, Scholastic achievements, Sports, Arts & Culture, Social Service and Bravery, which deserve recognition.
