Virtual National Unity Day celebration held at GNA University
The occasion commenced with the oath taking ceremony
Jalandhar: GNA University celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) in the virtual form as per the directions from the University Grants Commission. Students and faculty members graced the occasion on the virtual platform with a clear objective to to mark the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India--Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The occasion commenced with the oath taking ceremony with the intent to pay tribute to the leader of the day, who was instrumental in keeping India united. The online ceremony was followed by the online quiz based on the National Unity Day and its relevance till date. Every GUite took the quiz wholeheartedly and with full zeal.
The GUites along with the NCC cadets were also delivered a talk by Lieutenant Kamaljit Singh, who made the students get cognizant about the great works of Sardar Patel and the importance to maintain the nation's unity.
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University eulogized, “The observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in the University among large number of students will provide an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country.”
Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor said, “GU is always enthusiastically willing to celebrate such National events over a large scale as this always keeps the Indians rooted and pay tribute to the leaders of the Mother earth.”
Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics expressed, “I am really happy to see the grandiose participant at the end of the GUites for paying tribute to the true leader in letter and spirit via the virtual platform.”
