Volleyball meets football as Mumbai Meteors cross paths with Mumbai City FC in Chennai
Mumbai Meteors had a lighthearted meet and greet in Chennai with their city counterparts Mumbai City FC ahead of the latter’s clash against Chennaiyin FC on Friday in the Indian Super League.
Chennai, February 23, 2024: Mumbai Meteors had a lighthearted meet and greet in Chennai with their city counterparts Mumbai City FC ahead of the latter’s clash against Chennaiyin FC on Friday in the Indian Super League.
The Meteors are currently in the city for the ongoing Season 3 of RuPay Prime Volleyball League powered by A23. During the meeting, Mumbai Meteors skipper Hardeep Singh exchanged the signed team jersey with the Islanders’ captain Rahul Bheke, displaying a beautiful gesture of brotherhood & mutual respect. The Meteors’ coach Harun Khan along with the Islanders’ head coach Petry Kratky were also present during the cross-sport collaboration.
“Football is a challenging sport which requires great physical strength and agility which draws a lot of similarity to volleyball. Mumbai City FC are doing an excellent job in Indian football and it was a pleasure meeting them today. I admire the entire team and we wish them the best for their coming match and the season,” quoted Hardeep Singh during the exchange.
With two wins in three matches, Mumbai Meteors are currently placed third in the league table and will face Kochi Blue Spikers next, on 25th February 2024 at 8:30 PM IST.
