Voter Awareness Camp at PCTE

Ludhiana, September 9, 2016: PCTE Group of Institutes organized Voter Awareness Camp at its campus under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Assembly Constituency (AC) 068 Dakha. The camp was organized to motivate young voters. In the camp, students were trained to make aware and train voters in their localities and surrounding villages.


Dr. Richa, IAS, SDM West cum Electoral Registration Officer 068 Dakha Ludhiana was the Guest of Honor on the occasion. She appealed to the students saying, India is the largest democracy in the world and Election is not only a Government program, it is a national festival. Voting right is one of the most prestigious and important right given by the constitution to a common man.


Dr. Charanjit Singh Kainth, Nodel Officer, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), said public contribution must make the democracy strong and healthy. Especially youths can give shape and direction to the country. He added that youth can make aware a large number of voters in their localities giving them target of spreading awareness.


Kriti student of BBA 1st Year said, it is important for all citizens to vote in every election to make sure that the democratic, representative system of government is maintained. Many young voters say that candidates' issue stands are the most important factor in their voting decision.


Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said, Voting is the essence of a democracy that doesn't mean we should stop voting on the contrary we should get out and vote more than ever before. He also motivates youth to come out of their homes to cast their vote because their vote is their voice.
