VR Punjab joins hands with Grecian Hospital to organise blood donation camp

Mohali, August 14, 2019: In honour of the 73rd Independence Day, VR Punjab, the region’s largest shopping destination located on the Chandigarh-Kharar road, organised a blood donation camp today to celebrate this momentous occasion in a novel manner.

The objective of this camp was to salute the paramilitary forces who work very hard to keep us same and also aid the needs of BPL residents. In this regard, the mall associated with Grecian Hospital which is empanelled with paramilitary forces including CRPF and BSF as well government-run BPL schemes such as Ayushman bharat, bhai ghaniya etc.

Around 70 volunteers comprising customers and mall employees donated blood at the camp. In a tribute to soldiers, the hospital will utilize the equivalent units of blood collected to meet requirement of CRPF and BSF and also aid some of the BPL schemes such as Ayushman bharat, bhai ghaniya etc.

The main objective of organizing blood donation camp was to donate blood to help meet the need of ill or injured soldiers who put their lives at risk to ensure safety of civilians. Another objective was to strengthen the blood bank for the needs of BPL residents who need the support of society.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Renjhen, COO, Virtuous Retail said, this is a small gesture from our side in contributing towards the armed forces in the honour of 73rd Independence Day Celebration. We believe that donating blood is a very noble act as it is an invaluable gift of life to the person receiving it. It is extremely heart-warming to see such a large turnout and I also express my gratitude to the Grecian Hospital and the blood donors in making this camp a great success.”

Through this camp, VR Punjab made a sincere effort to sensitize people about the importance of the voluntary blood donation, inspire them to donate blood frequently and motivate them to further motive their relatives and friends for undertaking voluntary blood donation.
