WAIVE OFF AGRICULTURAL LOANS on the pattern of industrial loans

Ferozepur, January 29, 2013: The agriculture loans on the pattern of industrial loans should also be waived off, said Gurcharan Singh Pir Mohammad, Secretary Punjab, BKU Rajewal Block Makhu in a meeting held on Monday.

In the meeting, the burning issues of farmers were discussed and anti-farmers policies of the government were condemned. 

The leaders of Union said, the government, in fact, is giving a step-motherly treatment to the farmer’s community by linking the price of their produces with the price index whereas the loan of industrial units have been waived off a number a times. 

They further said, the farmers of Punjab are burdened with the loan and its interest and despite committing of suicides by certain farmers, the loans have not been waived off while on the other hand, the farmers have been burdened by decontrolling the diesel prices. 

Giving a warning to the government, the BKU leaders said, in case the problems of the farmers are not solved by the ruling governments, the union will be compelled to adopt the path of agitation, for which the consequences will be that of the government.
