Participating in the 'Wake Up Ludhiana' campaign in the district, Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Anurag Verma appreciated district administration and all the concerned departments for planting 1.87 lakh tree saplings under the campaign on Friday.

Ludhiana, July 12, 2024: Participating in the 'Wake Up Ludhiana' campaign in the district, Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Anurag Verma appreciated district administration and all the concerned departments for planting 1.87 lakh tree saplings under the campaign on Friday. 
  
Under the campaign, CS Anurag Verma planted tree saplings in Nehru Rose Garden and appealed the residents to plant more and more tree saplings in their surroundings.

CS Verma was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum MC Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, ADC Major Amit Sareen, Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal, MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, SDM Vikas Hira among others.
   
CS Verma stated that 'Wake Up Ludhiana' campaign is in line with the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to spread greenery and ensure clean environment. He further stated that these kind of campaigns are need of the hour and residents should also perform their duty by planting more trees in their surrounding areas. 

CS Verma appreciated District Administration and all the concerned departments for taking up massive plantation drives under the campaign,. He also congratulated the residents for participating in the campagn.
 
CS Verma also stressed upon proper maintenance and upkeep of the plants which are planted across the district. He said that residents should also ensure that the trees in their surrounding areas are given proper care and are maintained properly as these trees provide oxygen free of the cost. All these trees help in ensuring clean and pollution free environment. He appealed the residents to plant more trees for our future generations, so that they could breathe in clean and pollution free environment.
