Ludhiana, August 7, 2024: In a photography contest organized by the Ludhiana administration titled "Capture Ludhiana: Moments of Green," Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday honoured two local individuals for their best photographs. The aim of the contest was to promote environmental awareness among the local residents.
Jatin Malhotra (39), a photographer, and Kuldeep Singh (44), a government teacher, were felicitated by Deputy Commissioner in her office and were handed over appreciation certificates for their best pictures.
Sawhney mentioned that over 500 entries were received from Ludhiana residents for the contest, which was open to all residents with no age limits. The contest started on June 15 and the final deadline for entries was July 15. It was part of the Wake up Ludhiana Mission and aimed to raise environmental conservation awareness, especially among the younger generation.
The Deputy Commissioner added that the selected photographs will be showcased on the official website of the district and at a public display.
