'Wake Up Ludhiana': MLAs take up plantation drives in their respective constituencies; urge residents to plant tree saplings and ensure proper care of plants

Ludhiana, July 12, 2024: Participating in the 'Wake Up Ludhiana' campaign to spread greenery, various MLAs of Ludhiana city took up plantation drives in their respective areas on Friday.

Participating in the massive plantation drive, MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, MLA Madan Lal Bagga, MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi, MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina urged the residents to step forward and join hands with the administration for spreading greenery and for ensuring a pollution free environment. 

Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu took up plantation drive on Gill road, while Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina took up the plantation drive in Lohara area.

Ludhiana West MLA Gupreet Bassi Gogi planted saplings in Nehru Rose Garden, while Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga took up plantation drive in Civil Lines and around Buddha Dariya near Chand cinema.
 
Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi planted saplings at the central verge on the road leading to Samrala chowk from Baba Than Singh chowk. Similarly, MLA Ludhiana East Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal took up plantation drive in ward number 13 on Tibba road. 
  
Municipal Corporation officials stated that as of now, over 10 thousand tree saplings have been planted by the civic body in the city under 'Wake Up Ludhiana' campaign. 
 
The legislators appealed to the residents that they should also contribute their bit towards the society by taking up plantation drives in their surrounding areas. Further they stated that the residents should also ensure proper care and maintenance of the plants/trees in their surrounding areas, so that the plants/trees could grow properly.
