The participants expressed their gratitude towards this initiative and were happy to receive training from experts who provided practical training on different #emergency response techniques.
Bengaluru, March 28, 2022: Walkaroo Foundation, the CSR arm of Walkaroo Group does extensive work in the area of road safety promotion and emergency response readiness. On a recent awareness drive by the Foundation it organized a #FirstAid training program for auto and taxi drivers in collaboration with Amenity Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT). #ALERT has been working for over a decade to make the 'Right to Life' a reality in India. Typically in all road accidents, it will be the drivers who will be the first responders. The objective of the awareness drive was therefore to educate the drivers to handle emergency situations that occur due to road accidents. The enthusiastic participants were put through an interactive session of theory and practical’s on administering first aid. Each of the participants were provided with a first aid kit, a training completion certificate and a display sticker for their vehicle.
Commenting on this initiative VKC Noushad, MD Walkaroo Group said, "We are delighted to have introduced this programme in Coimbatore. In the last two months, over 40+ lives have been lost in traffic accidents in the city, apart from many succumbing to severe injuries leading to long-term implications in health. Since the majority of the cases tend to aggravate health complications owing to a lack of timely treatment, the first aid and emergency response system are extremely vital. We believe that this 3 hour training programme catering to 25+ members in collaboration with the ALERT team has provided insight for the participants on various first aid treatments that can be given to the road accident victims. Walkaroo Foundation is looking forward to imparting this knowledge to other community service volunteers in the near future”.
The participants expressed their gratitude towards this initiative and were happy to receive training from experts who provided practical training on different #emergency response techniques. They were also taught to identify the criticality of condition and give appropriate & timely first aid. Furthermore, the participants emphasized the importance of this training and the need for it to be offered to the masses more efficiently.
