Water pots for bird installed and saplings were distributed at PAU during World Environment Day
Ludhiana, June 5, 2019: Students and Teachers of Eco Club of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, on Wednesday, took the initiative in the direction of fighting with the problem of pollution and temperature rise on the occasion of World Environment Day. On the day plant saplings and pots were distributed among the students while they also installed water pots for the birds so that birds can have water during the heat. Giving information about this, the head of the Forestry Department, Dr.Sanjeev Kumar Chauhan said that although there are a number of plants and trees in the campus, still due to the deforestation, the temperature is continuously rising. Also, the birds lost their place of living. That's why they took this initiative. While the Assist director (Television) Dr.Anil Sharma from Varsity's Communication Department said that in order to cooperate in this activity, more than 40 students from different departments of the University have come together on a single call, the names included Palwinder Singh Bassi, Akash, Kashish, Simran, Prabhjot and Gurpreet Singh. More than 100 pots and saplings were distributed, while at more than 30 places water pots for birds were installed.
