New Delhi: In the avid indispensable times of COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi and NCR are facing issues regarding safeguarding the rapid spread of the pandemic at the same time giving ignition to the economy. To understand the nuances, process, and way forward, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an interactive webinar on "How to Unlock Delhi Post COVID 19" with Shri Vijendra Gupta, MLA, Rohini Constituency, New Delhi and Dr. Hans Raj Baweja, Former State President, DMA Consultant, BoG Head: Ethics, Medical Council of India.
Shri Vijendra Gupta emphasized the need to develop the lifestyle of wearing masks, hand sanitization & social distancing to fight against the pandemic and shared the current scenario of the Delhi in these challenging times of COVID19. He gave a brief history of COVID-19, how it turned into a pandemic, and its spread in the dense population of India. He gave the process of the death audit committee and the grievances raised by the citizens and hospital authorities.
Talking about unlocking, he said that objective of the unlocking was to raise revenue in the country which is essential for running the economy. He gave a global perspective of the impact of the pandemic in different countries such a New Zealand, Italy, and many more.
Shri Vijendra Gupta highlighted that wearing a mask can rule out the spread of the pandemic and is one of the most important steps which should be converted into a habit. It is essential to educate the masses at the local level for taking all the precautions which they are moving in his unlock and rapid testing Pan-India. He also said to strengthen the immunity by taking AYUSH Kadha, immunity supplements and medicines.
Dr. Hans Raj Baweja talked about the background of Coronavirus, its symptoms, and how it affects the body. He talked about the importance of precautions to be taken such as wearing masks, washing hands, sanitization, and strengthening immunity. He explained how this virus is being spread from human to human in a rapid manner and how it can be controlled by taking precaution and following the guidelines given by the Government. He emphasized the importance and process to be followed for quarantine and isolation.
Dr. D K Aggarwal President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his presidential remarks mentioned the consequences of the pandemic on the humanitarian and industrial level. He further said that vaccine is the only solution for this pandemic which has no defined timeline for release. He lauded the efforts and measures taken by the Government for combating the spread in the forms of lockdown, social distancing, and sanitization, upscaling the health infrastructure and health workforces, and many more. He further deliberated of unlocking the economy and restarting the economic activities which are essential for the country but at the same time following all the norms and protocols to curtain the spread.
Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Chairman, Delhi, and NCR Committee, PHD Chamber deliberated about the issues faced by Delhi during these times of COVID-19 and measures to mitigate them.
Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary-General, PHD Chamber gave his concluding remarks along with a vote of thanks. He assured that PHD Chamber will remain in full solidarity and support in raising concerns of the nation to the government and ministries.
