Chandigarh: The department of Biotechnology, UIET organized webinar for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department on May 11, 2-3 pm. Dr. Anshu Palta, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology at Govt Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32 Chandigarh enlightened the students on the topic “UNDERSTANDING CANCER: Going Beyond Definitions “. Dr Palta has more than 15 years of experience as a consultant in Pathology. Dr. Palta acquainted the students with the basics of cancer pathogenesis. Her talk aimed at making the students aware of the various aspects of cancer, including the terminology, underlying causes, organ changes and diagnostic tests. 51 students, faculty of Biotechnology Engineering, staff members attended the online event. The students found the session was exciting and informative. It would be helpful and motivating as the speaker made the topic as simple as possible and, opened the horizon for research in the medical field.
