A webinar on “Corona vaccine-our greatest weapon against covid-19” being organized by P.G. Department of Biotechnology of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar:
A webinar, on the most important topic, based on current scenario in India, entitled as “Corona vaccine-our greatest weapon against covid-19” was organized by P.G. Department of Biotechnology of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in collaboration with Microbiologist Society India (MSI). Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar was the guest of honour of this webinar. Dr. Samra enlightened the audience about the importance of vaccination, and also to follow government guideline, wear mask, maintain social distance and to get vaccinated. 

Addressing the inaugural session, Suraj Agnish, student President, MSI Punjab Chapter, humbly welcomed Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, resource person, Dr. AM Deshmukh, national President, MSI, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Coordinator, MSI, Punjab chapter and Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, President, MSI, Punjab chapter. 

The session started with the opening remarks of Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, followed by a brainstorming talk by Dr. Arvind Madhaurao Deshmukh, on the importance of corona vaccine, answering, all the questions, doubts and myths related with corona vaccine and importance of vaccination in the current scenario. In this expert talk, he described the role of vaccine in prevention against covid-19. He also discussed about various different types of vaccine available right now, their development and efficiency. He also described the whole process of vaccination, not only in India but at a global level. He also shed light on the various myths and facts related with the vaccination drive. Dr. Deshmukh, while inspiring the students with their valuable thoughts, urges to all students to get vaccinated and also advised them to promote vaccination drive in their near localities. Interaction of resource person with participants & answering their queries made the session very interactive and lively. Dr. Samra congratulated, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma and Dr. Inderjeet Kaur for organizing this event, appreciated their efforts and wish them success for their future endeavors. Dr. Inderjeet Kaur President, MSI, Punjab Chapter, proposed the vote of thanks. Overall the webinar was very illuminating & conversant.
