The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies organized an online International Webinar on the topic ‘Development of Individualized Education Plan for CWSN’ to observe “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” on 5th December.
Chandigarh, December 06, 2023: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies organized an online International Webinar on the topic ‘Development of Individualized Education Plan for CWSN’ to observe “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” on 5th December.
The session started with a welcome address from Dr.Md. Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the Department. The key speaker Iftikhar Azeem, Special Education Expert, Mississippi Education Department, United States of America (USA) started the lecture with the phrase ‘You are the physician of the education being a special educator’ while referring to the B.Ed. special education students. The resource person introduced the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to the participants, a federal legislation that covers any special education programme or policy for children aged 3 to 21 in the US. He explored the Process and Components of IEP they practice in their county to accommodate all the children, especially those with special needs in their classroom.
All the faculty members : Professor (Dr.) Navleen Kaur, Professor (Dr.) Anuradha Sharma, Professor (Dr.) Dazy Zarabi Nitin Raj, and Taukir Alam were-present.
The lecture ended with a vote of thanks given by Nitin Raj.
