WeCare announces national essay competition on environment to be launched on Oct 20
The maiden edition of the competition is themed on Waste Management
New Delhi: WeCare, an association of likeminded business organisations and the voice of industry that is committed to environment protection ensuring plastic waste management through collaborative action and partnerships, today announced the launch of “National Essay Competition” on Environment under WeCare Fellowship on Tuesday, 20th October,2020. The competition will be open for Indian students from Class 11 and above from all streams of study.
The competition is being organised in association with India CSR Network and The Hyphen, and with support from Swachh Bharat Mission. Partners include Buddy4Study, Million Sparks Foundation, and Connecting Dreams Foundation.
The maiden edition of the competition is themed on Waste Management. Topics include Segregation-at-Source: A People's Movement, Plastics: From Waste to Wealth, My Waste-My Responsibility, Waste to Energy, Waste Management in My Community
In addition to cash prizes Winners will receive internship offers by partner organisations. Additionally, all participating students will get free access to a creative writing workshop.
Commenting on the launch of the essay competition, Dr. Atul Sud, President of We Care said, “Through this initiative, we aim to engage with younger generation so they can be our drivers to behavioural change in the society, while we address the issue of plastic waste management.”
“We all need to think and act as a responsible citizen to take-up more proactive actions for waste segregation at source. We believe that WeCare fellowship would help the participants to not only enhance their writing skills, but also about their understanding on plastic waste, recycling, circular economy and solid waste management, as they prepare for this competition”, he added/
