Chandigarh, February 12, 2025: UIAMS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised a week-long series of activities, including Business Day, an industrial visit, and expert talks.
The students of MBA (Retail Management) visited The Collective Elante Mall for an interactive and engrossing session. They had the chance to understand product and brand management, financial aspects, product pricing, and positioning. The event was coordinated by Dr. Rini Singh.
The week began with Business Day, which was graced by Colonel Anshul Sharma as the Chief Guest. The aim of the programme was to give students exposure to market dynamics. The Chief Guest emphasised that learning does not remain confined to classrooms; students should also be exposed to practical experiences. Such events provide valuable exposure and nurture the entrepreneurial intentions of students.
The Director of UIAMS, Prof. Monika Aggarwal, informed that the week long event was designed to help students understand the venture funding dynamics involved in deals between investors and entrepreneurs. The event included several mock deals, where entrepreneurs presented unique ideas to investors and delved deeper into the concepts of equity retention and investment. Students were exposed to multiple scenarios and gained insights on how to manage and raise finances.
Dr. Manu Sharma, the event coordinator, mentioned that significant efforts, brainstorming, and planning went into the ideas presented by the students. Mr. Lakshay, Mr. Mahaveer, and Ms. Samriti Jamwal shared that, in order to make the event more engaging, many interesting activities were organised, including a mock banking game where students had the opportunity to earn and lend money. The event was much appreciated by all the budding managers and entrepreneurs.
