What will happen to the society if minister turns unruly: IDPD
Says Health Minster’s behaviour with Vice Chancellor of the BFUHS condemned
Ludhiana, July 30, 2022: In a statement Dr Arun Mitra Senior Vice President Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) and former chairman Ethical Committee Punjab Medical Council and Dr G S Grewal former President Punjab Medical Council have strongly condemned the behaviour of Health Minister of Punjab with the vice chancellor of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
In a statement here today, they added Dr Raj Bahadur Gaur is a surgeon Par excellence and has worked with dedication with no finger to be pointed out towards him The Ills in the healthcare system are because of poor funding by the government and not because of the vice chancellor. The budget allocation in the just announced budget to the health is only 3.03% of the total budget instead of required 11%. With this meager amount one can only expect torn sheets and mattresses on beds! If the minister turns unruly, what will happen to the society, they questioned.
They demanded that Health Minister should apologies for his misbehaviour and concentrate on improving the health infrastructure instead of such cheap publicity tactics.
Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (CPI) District Ludhiana strongly condemns unruly behaviour by the Health Minster with Dr Raj Bahadur Gaur Vice Chancellor of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. In a statement here today, the party’s secretary D P Maur said such type of behaviour amounts to cheap publicity tactics which ultimately creates bad precedence in the society. He should have instead held a dialogue with the VC and inquired about the issues faced by university and assured him of solutions to them. Dr Gaur is an upright person with no charges of corruption against him. The minster must apologise to the VC.
