Will Rama take his own life on Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama
Tenali Rama, popular for its intriguing plot, gets even more interesting in the upcoming episodes. Navratri has just begun but in Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama Goddess Lakshmi is already on her way out. In the upcoming track, Maa Lakshmi (Rishina Kandhari) comes in Rama’s dream and tells him that it is about time that she leaves. Rama (Krishna Bharadwaj) dismisses it as a bad dream and goes back to sleep. Next day, Maa Lakshmi comes to the darbaar as a small girl and explains the rituals to conduct Navratri Pooja to Rama. He does the Pooja himself for 9 days, only to learn on the last day of Navratri, that Maa Lakshmi is leaving Vijayanagar. Rama resolves to stop Maa from leaving. Just when she is about to reach Vijayanagar’s gate, Rama asks Maa to have bhojan with him one last time and, deliberately, gets less water along. On the pretext of getting water from the well, he takes a promise from Maa that she won’t leave till Rama gets back and Maa Lakshmi agrees to it. Rama goes to the well and commits suicide so that Maa stays in Vijayanagar forever. Will Maa Lakshmi depart from Vijayanagar despite Rama’s desperate plea? Has Rama really taken his own life? Talking about this interesting track and her part, Rishina Kandhari said, “I have been part of Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama off and on. However, this is the longest and also the most interesting track. Playing the role of Maa Lakshmi is amazing as I get to dress up like her. Also, I feel lucky to play all 9 avatars of the Goddess during the auspicious festival of Navratri, which not many artistes have had the privilege of. It feels like I am divinely blessed and chosen by the goddess herself to spread spiritual knowledge with Tenali Rama. The story gets a twist with her wanting to leave Vijayanagar and Rama’s efforts to stop Maa.” Krishna Bharadwaj who plays the role of Rama commented, “In the Navratri track, Maa Lakshmi wants to leave Vijayanagar owing to her unhappiness, with Rama leaving no stone unturned in making her change her mind. This track is so interesting that this Navratri, viewers are bound to be on the edge of their seats.”
