Wine Tasting Workshop held in Doaba College
The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, of Doaba College organized Wine Certificate Level-1 course for the students of BTHM and Diploma in Food Production- to get the basic ideas of wines.
Jalandhar, March 9, 2024: The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, of Doaba College organized Wine Certificate Level-1 course for the students of BTHM and Diploma in Food Production- to get the basic ideas of wines.
Mukesh Kumar-Wine Sommelier-Frateli Wines Nasik was the resource person for this course. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari , Prof Vishal Sharma-Head, staff and students Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, appreciated the students and faculty members of THM department for organizing tourism and hotel industry seminars and industrial visits along with workshops related to sommelier and bartender related jobs .
Mukesh Kumar shared various tips and techniques regarding wines and apprised the students about the scope of Sommelier in Hospitality Industry. He also he taught students about different components of wine such as acidity, tannin, and aroma. He also discussed about basic wine services and storage principles of preserving wine.
Prof. Vishal Sharma also shared the scope of various wine certificate level-1,2 and 3 along with advance level course much needed for sommelier related jobs in hotel Industry. Prof Jagmeet Singh, Prof. Harpreet Kaur and Lab Tech. Harprit were present on the occasion.
