Winning Punjab National basketball team honoured

Ludhiana, October 26, 2019: Punjab Basketball Association (Regd)(PBA)today, in an exclusive function, honoured the team that won the 70th Junior National Basketball Championship played at Patna this week. Punjab team defeated Rajasthan 105-73 in the final match. Also specially honoured on the occasion were coaches of the winning team Mr.Rajinder Singh and Mr.Jaspal Singh. Mr.Teja Singh Dhaliwal, the honorary general secretary of PBA was all praise for Principal Singh who scored 38 points and other players who played in a perfect team spirit. Present on the occasion were S.J P Singh VP-PBA,Mr Vijay Chopra, PBA Finance Secreraty, S.Baldev Singh Dronacharya Awardee, S.Gursharanjit Singh Sandhu-an International player and Brij Goyal, a sports promoter. S.Baldev Singh appealed to Government of Punjab to take care of Punjab Sportsmen in tune with sports policy of Haryana which has yielded good results for them. Ms.Saloni,a team coach of woman team which finished 5th nationally was also honored. Here to be reckoned are the hard work of Ludhiana Basketball Academy which has trained players international standing which find place in NBA too.
