Winter School on Innovative Storage Solutions organized at ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana successfully completed
The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana organized ICAR-Sponsored Winter School on “Innovative Storage Solutions: The Best Way Forward for Reducing Post-Harvest Losses, and Doubling Farmers’ Income”, during November 18 to December 8.
Ludhiana, December 8, 2022: The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana organized ICAR-Sponsored Winter School on “Innovative Storage Solutions: The Best Way Forward for Reducing Post-Harvest Losses, and Doubling Farmers’ Income”, during November 18 to December 8. Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET, also the Course Director of the training programme delivered the valedictory remarks and appreciated all the trainee participants for their active involvement and showing zeal to learn during the training programme. He further added that such programmes are meant to not only dissemination of contemporary knowledge but also for exchange of ideas and developing professional linkages among the participants, experts and their institutions.
Dr. K.K. Goyal, Director, MSME & Start-ups All India Forum of MSME, Guest of honour of the valedictory programme, highlighted about the self-reliance through entrepreneurship and start-ups by way of agricultural processing and management especially through storage.
Dr. S. S. Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Ludhiana, Punjab, was the Chief Guest of the valedictory programme. He elaborated importance of storage of agricultural commodities in food value chain. He also delineated the need for such professional training programmes for honing the teaching, research and extension skills of professionals. He hoped that the new knowledge will have positive impact on the deliveries of participants in their respective area of work.
Dr. Bhupendra Ghodki, Course coordinator presented a detailed report about activities during the course which includes lectures, practical sessions, demonstrations and field visits. A compendium of the training was released during the programme, and certificates were also distributed to the 21 participants from different institutes of ICAR and SAUs from different parts of India. The valedictory program was also attended by all the scientists of ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana.
