With projects worth multi-crore Ludhiana all set to witness new era of development
200 E-rickshaws to be brought this year, will help in curbing air pollution
Ludhiana: With projects worth multi-crores already launched and many more in the offing, Ludhiana district is all set to witness new era of development under Captain government, said MLA Surinder Dawar, Mayor Balkar Sandhu and Muncipal Councillor Mamta Ashu in a joint media interaction at Circuit House here today.
The leaders while reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to restore the pristine glory of the state, said that the state government has been making strenuous efforts in this direction to ensure holistic development of the Ludhiana.
Chairman Punjab Youth Development Board Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, DCC Ludhiana (Urban) president Ashwani Sharma and Chairman PMIDB Amarjit Singh Tikka were prominent among those present on the occasion.
Addressing a press conference over completion of four years of Captain Amarinder Singh government in Punjab, they said that the Captain Amarinder Singh led Congress government has put the state on high growth trajectory with its tremendous efforts in last four years.
They said that due to the concerted efforts of the state government, Punjab would soon emerge as a front ranking state in the country.
They told that all development
projects including rejuvenation of Buddha Nullah worth Rs 650 crore, carpeting of new roads at the cost of 200 crore in Ludhiana, laying of sewerage lines, development of ROBs new leisure valleys, construction of highways, new smart schools, colleges, new parks, and others set to transform the Ludhiana into a world class city.
They told that this year, 200 e-rickshaws would be purchased by the civic body which will help in tackling the problem of rising Air pollution, besides generating employment for youth.
They further added that decisions taken by the government in the the fields of Agriculture, Industry, Education, Health, Infrastructure, social welfare and others have been ensuring the revival of Punjab economy.
Despite the pandemic has put the state in financial crisis, they said that the pace of development works has not been slowed down.
Meanwhile, MLA Surinder Dawar, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Mayor Balkar Sandhu and MC Councillor Mamta Ashu on Thursday launched a booklet 'Nawan Naroa Punjab' showcasing the milestones set up by Punjab government in every sector leading to holistic development of the state during its four-year term.
Earlier, MLAs Surinder Dawar and Lakhvir Singh Lakha, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Chairman Punjab Youth Development Board Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Chairman PMIDB Amarjit Singh Tikka, MC Councillor Mamta Ashu, DC Varinder Kumar Sharma, MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, DCC Ludhiana (Urban) president Ashwani Sharma, ADC (General) Amarjit Bains, MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh also attended the virtual media interaction of the Chief Minister, during a function held at Bachat Bhawan, here.
